Since last month redhat released the 5th update of RHEL5, today they are releasing their major release RHEL6 BETA.

Some new enhancements:

- Enhanced kernel rewritten scheduler, memory addressing, and more cores.
- Virtualization with integrated KVM scheduler enhancements and more hardware support.
- Storage with support for network block storage via FCoE & iSCSI makes LVM/DM more flexible in on-line resizing of mirrored volumes.
- NFS updated to version 4 including the IPv6 support.
- EXT4 is supported now for larger filesystems sizes, XFS is expected to be available as well.
- Security includes a new service called System Security Services Daemon SSSD first released within Fedora-11 for central management of identity and authentication.
- RAS Reliabiltym Availability and Serviceability offer features such hot-add of memory.

Login as root fedora 12

to login as a root in fedora 12 you need to edit two files /etc/pam.d/gdm and /etc/pam.d/gdm-password

In the line contains user != root quiet change the word in the second column of this line which is "required" into optional and enjoy the login. However it's not recommended doing such thing, learn a professional linux administration habit and never do it

I'm testing sending an email to my blog to check it \m/

Reset Networker administrator password

I'm linux fan, so it's on linux.

Have a new terminal, set GST_RESET_PW to non-null value "export GET_RESET_PW 1"

Then in the same terminal restart the console server /etc/init/gst stop/start

Login to the console server using "administrator" as a password.

Set GST_RESET_PW back to null value "export GST_RESET_PW"

That's it!

Trying serious this time

I'm typing this while I'm setting in SLB Benghazi's office, I wanted to share how to reset the EMC networker "legato" administrator password, so I guess I'm gonna submit another post for this stuff.
