Since last month redhat released the 5th update of RHEL5, today they are releasing their major release RHEL6 BETA.

Some new enhancements:

- Enhanced kernel rewritten scheduler, memory addressing, and more cores.
- Virtualization with integrated KVM scheduler enhancements and more hardware support.
- Storage with support for network block storage via FCoE & iSCSI makes LVM/DM more flexible in on-line resizing of mirrored volumes.
- NFS updated to version 4 including the IPv6 support.
- EXT4 is supported now for larger filesystems sizes, XFS is expected to be available as well.
- Security includes a new service called System Security Services Daemon SSSD first released within Fedora-11 for central management of identity and authentication.
- RAS Reliabiltym Availability and Serviceability offer features such hot-add of memory.
